The Section Listed Below in Bold:

This is a new section starting in the 2018 edition of NFPA 99 plus it's also listed in 2021 & 2024 editions:

    5.1.12.3 System Inspection.
    5.1.12.3.2 Inspections.
5.1.12.3.2.1 The initial pressure tests performed by the installing contractor shall be witnessed by an ASSE 6020 inspector, an ASSE 6030 verifier, or the authority having jurisdiction or its designee.

I believe this to be a total misprint a total mistake!

This testing should not be based on the INITIAL PRESSURE TEST

(i.e. the 150 psig or 1.5 x working pressure test) that test by the installer is done all the time and / or at any time.

The Inspection should be based only on the 24 hour standing pressure test as it's listed in Section #5.1.12.2.6.7:

    Can I Get A VOTE

    YES to Change

    NO to Leave As Is

( If we leave it as is / an ASSE 6020 inspector, 6030 verifier or the AHJ authority having jurisdiction or its designee, would need to be on site alot )
