In the spirit of ensuring a change is made to table 5.1.11 in every edition, I wanted to offer this proposal up for discussion.

I would like to see the standard operating pressure for nitrous oxide be changed to 45-55 psig.  The substantiation comes from Annex D of ASSE 6000, specifically D.3.1 subparagraph e) 1) which states that it is recommended that nitrous oxide be set and maintained at least 5 psig below the normal operating pressure of oxygen and med air.

Also, carbon dioxide is often needed to run at higher pressures than 50-55 psig.  Depending on what type of insufflators a facility is using, the may require a CO2 pressure of 70, 80 or even 90 psig.  So the standard operating pressure for CO2 I think should have a greater range of 50-90 psig.

I would agree with this proposal.

We have seen the Standard pressure change on other gases recently (N2 and IA) and these proposed changes would allow for safer systems and the ability for compliant system pressures without needing to relabel for non-standard pressures.
